Line R originated from a fascination with marquetry. In a shape and material study, we examined whether this technique would also be suitable for making 3D reliefs with optical effects. This resulted in a series of geometric relief objects. Line R is characterized by strong graphic design with an impressive optical effect. The objects are made up of strips of light and dark wood, and become more or less visible depending on the viewer’s perspective. The series consists of various small objects in two sizes, which can be combined with each other.
